OKADA Percussion Ensemble
This group was formed in 1975 by OKADA. The Ensemble has given annual concerts since its establishment, and has presented numerous works mainly by Japanese composers. To the present, PEOJ has commissioned and premiered more than eighty pieces in the annual concerts. The Ensemble was awarded the Cultural Bureau's Fine Arts Festival Prize of Excellence and remarked by ONGAKU NO TOMO SHA CORP. (The biggest music publishing company).. PEOJ has 3 LP and 4 CD released.
Since 1990 PEOJ began to emphasize on concerts for the youth, organizing various outreach all around Japan. PEOJ toured extensively to Taiwan, Greece, Germany, Bulgaria, Luxsembourg, Denmark, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore.
